FOUNTAIN CITY, WI (April 09, 2013) –- The Iron Man Challenge featuring USRA B-Mods will be part of the program when the USMTS Modifieds visit the Mississippi Thunder Speedway on Friday, May 3.

The event will have a 7 p.m. starts, and a large field of cars is expected at the track which hosted last September’s record-setting $10,000-to-win Baehman Law B-Mod Nationals that featured more than 150 entrants.

The season opener at Bob Timm’s high-banked 3/8-mile clay oval is one week earlier on Friday, April 26.

With four races in the books, Jeremy Chambers of Parsons, Kan., leads the points standings for the B-Mods, followed by Kris Jackson, Shawn Strong, Corey Crapser and Steve Muilenburg.

The next event for B-Mods is Thursday, April 18, at the Valley Speedway in Grain Valley, Mo. Stock Cars open their campaign on May 25 at the Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minn.

Final points will be determined by the best 15 finishes for B-Mods and best 10 finishes for Stock Cars. Although a license is not required to compete in an Iron Man Challenge event, drivers must possess a valid USRA Competitor License, utilize the American Racer KK704 racing tire on all four wheels and compete in at least half of the events for their division to be eligible for points funds.
