In a post to the official MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY FaceBook page, Speedway owner Bob Timm offered the following information:
"Attention Slingshot Drivers: In an attempt to try and unify rules in our area and make it easier for people to race different tracks, we have elected to
not allow alum flywheels in the A or B Slingshot divisions for 2016.
We will be using our same A & B guidelines for the age of the participants in each division. New racers will be allowed to race the B division but not for points,
and at the promoters discretion. They may be asked to move to the A division at which time the promoter deems appropriate.
We will be weighing both divisions this year after both heats and features per the Speedway Entertainment weight rules for Jr and Sr's so prepare accordingly.
Also be aware that the start time has been moved up for the start of heats for Slingshots to 5:45 PM. We will be running heats for both classes before the big
car heats as we did in 2015. However, for 2016 we will run both A & B features during intermission every week.
We have a new track cell phone that will be attended on race day. We can receive calls or text for draw for those that will run late. We will have a 5:30 draw
cut-off.
All other rules, related to the Slingshots, can be found at www.speedwayentertainment.com."
The excitement continues to grow, as the 2016 racing season gets nearer!
