FOUNTAIN CITY, WI (Saturday September 09, 2017) – Under crystal clear skies, with perfect temperatures - the "6TH ANNUAL DAHL AUTO PLAZA MODIFIED NATIONALS" presented racers and race fans alike with an exceptional three-day experience to top all others!

By the time the final checkered flag was waiving, Kris Jackson was hoisting a $10,000 check above his head in the Dahl Chevrolet Buick GMC Victory Lane; while Jake Timm, Rodney Sanders & Dustin Sorensen were celebrating A-Mod feature wins.

The entire experience for Jackson, however, did not get off to the greatest of starts; during pre-event practice Wednesday evening the Lebenon, Mo racer ruined the engine tucked inside his #65!

"I spent the night trying to get in touch with my engine builder," Jackson explained, "and didn't even really know if I was going to have an engine to race or not. The replacement engine got (to the track) about an hour before my first heat race Thursday evening!"

The thrashing and wrenching needed to get Jackson's car ready for competition left little, if any, time for diagnostics or advanced preperations - it was an old-school situation of drop the power-plant in and see what happens.

What happened was a story that will be recounted many times over in the shop and, most probably, by race fans in the grandstands many times over. Jackson, and his untested, origins unknown, back-corner workshop power plant, bested the best and raced his way to a $10,000 pay day by winning the "6th Annual Dahl Auto Plaza Modified Nationals"!

Through the first half of Saturday night's high-dollar feature, Jackson appeared ready to present a "snoozer" to the fans - pulling away and leading by a large margin. But, after a halfway break, Jackson suddenly had company out front. Multi-time weekly feature winner at MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY Shaun Walski used the mid-race restart to keep his #95 just off the rear of Jackson's car.

"It might have been a bit of 'cat and mouse'," Walski explained afterwards, "I was racing Kris, but I really didn't want to show everything too early. Once I got down to the final few laps, I knew it was time to go."

From Jackson's point of view, he knew that a challenge would come sooner or later. "I knew he (Walski) was coming but figured he would be on the top side of the track." Jackson explained from Victory Lane, after fending off Walski's challenge and collecting the win, "I love racing with guys that want to race and pass you clean."

Walski actually got around Jackson during the final couple circuits, for a corner or two, only to have Jackson zip right past to reclaim his hold on the top spot.

Jackson raced to the win, followed by Walski and three other weekly racers to complete the top-5; JT Wasmund, Ryan Olson & Parker Hale finished third, fourth and fifth respectively.

In the Modified portion of the three-day event, Jake Timm, Rodney Sanders & Dustin Sorensen won $2000, $3000 & $4000 features - Thursday, Friday and Saturday night!
