FOUNTAIN CITY, WI (Friday August 2nd, 2019) There seems to be nothing better than the scream of "SLIDE JOB" to get the crowd on their feet! Friday night, the "Sliders" where being served up whole-sale and with a seemingly endless supply during Severson Oil Night at MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY. And it wasn't only the fans who were enjoying the show; "That was WITHOUT A DOUBT the most fun I've ever had driving a race car!" beamed two-time Track Champion, and celebrant of his second feature win in a row, Parker Hale.

Likewise, Rivercity Manufacturing USRA Modified feature winner Josh Angst, and Jailhouse Saloon USRA Hobby Stock feature winner Troy Hovey enjoyed their fare-share of Sliders" before raising their checkered flags in MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY's Victory Lane.

ANGST FINALLY RETURNS TO VICTORY LANE WITH USRA MODIFIED

Despite the fact that it took until the first weekend of August to collect his first feature win of the season at MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY, you still can't call this a 'bad' year for Winona's Josh Angst. Additionally taking into account the fact that the feature win closed the gap to just a SINGLE POINT between himself and current points leader Dustin Sorensen atop the Rivercity Manufacturing USRA Modified point standings at MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY one would have to admit that 2019 is actually going pretty well for the 4-time Track Champion!

"Yeah, the season got off to a slower start than we'd hoped, here at MTS," said Angst while standing in Victory Lane after crossing beneath the waiving checkered flag with a 2 and a half second lead over point leader, and previous week's feature winner, Dustin Sorensen, "We've gotten a few feature wins at other tracks, but kept coming up just a little short here.

"These last few weeks, though," continued Angst, "things have really started coming together here. Dustin's been fast, and it's always fun to race him; tonight, though, I'm glad I finally got him!"

Sorensen followed Angst's #99 across the finish line in second, with former Track Champion Brad Waits completing the top-3.

HALE SLIDES BACK INTO VICTORY LANE

When a two-time Track Champion says something like, "That's the most fun I've EVER had driving a race car" . . . it's time to pay attention!

That's just what Parker Hale said (with a HUGE SMILE, might I add) after climbing from his #28 in MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY's Victory Lane - for the second week in a row. Just one week removed from grabbing $1,000 for winning the Blackhorse Bar & Grill USRA B-Mod feature during the Baehman Law Challenge Night, Hale was back for seconds - and quickly gobbled up a plate-full of "SLIDERS" compliments of a spirited battle for the lead with two-time feature winner Ryan Olson. "Ryan is a great driver, he raced me hard but he raced me clean," smiled Hale.

"Did You SEE THAT?" Hale called out to his family and crew as they swarmed him in Victory Lane, "Oh My GOSH! That was WITHOUT A DOUBT the most fun I've ever had driving a race car!"

While Olson and Hale were enjoying "Slider City", defending Track Champion Shaun Walski was right there as well, hunting the top-2 hoping for a chance to either get involved or get by.

At the line, it was Hale, Olson & Walski; with mid-season point leader Taylor Skauge fourth, and Nate Butterfield picking up his first career Feature top-5 finish close behind!

WILLIAMSON WALTZES INTO A THREE-PEAT

Alex Williamson continues his late season domination of the Centerville Welding & Repair USRA Late Model division. Working his way to his third straight feature win behind the wheel of his John Duffy owned #47.

"This one feels even better than the first two," commented Williamson in Victory Lane, "I feel like I really had to work for this one."

Division point leader, and three-time champion Lance Hofer finished second, with early season feature winner Shaun Mann in third.

HOVEY GRABS THIRD HOBBY STOCK WIN IN A ROW

Troy Hovey seems to be having almost too much fun!

A smile large enough to stretch from ear to ear was firmly planted on the face of Iowa racer as he, too, celebrated his third straight feature win with his #30.

Keeping defending Track Champion Travis Krause behind him was the trick to the win, while Nick Schwebach, Triton Krause, & Steve Dwyer completed the top-5 in the ultra-competetive Jailhouse Saloon USRA Hobby Stock feature.

MILLER RETURNS FOR DIRT WIN

Hunter Miller returned to MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY for the first time in 2019, and promptly parked his #10 in Victory Lane to celebrate a Seth's Auto Repair MTS Hornet Feature win! "I'm so happy to be able to come back up here," said the LaCrosse, WI racer, "I really enjoy this track and to return with a feature win is like the best way to do it!"

Strum, WI's Jason Helgeson & West Salem, WI's Patrick Thicke completed the top-3.

MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY will be silent Friday August 9th, but green flag action will return when the West-Central Wisconin power-plant presents 'Johnny Severtson Memorial 4th Annual $260-To-Win Hornet Swarm' Friday evening, August 16th!

Green flag competition begins immediately following the 7 PM Opening Ceremonies with green flag action provided by the Rivercity Manufacturing USRA Modifieds, Centerville Welding & Repair USRA Late Models presented by Big Toy Storage, Black Horse Bar & Grill USRA B-Mods, Jailhouse Saloon USRA Hobby Stocks, & Seth's Auto Repair MTS Hornets!
