SHAUN MANN BREAKS HOFER'S 3-SEASON WIN STREAK AT MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY!

FOUNTAIN CITY, WI (Friday May 3rd, 2019) – For the past three seasons (2017, 2018 & the first week of 2019) one name has become synonimous with dominance at
MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY! Whenerver the Centerville Welding & Repair USRA Late Models rolled out onto "The Big 1/3-Mile" fans and competitors alike
focused on one car, one driver . . . with the expectation, almost certanty, that this car/driver would more than likely end up in Victory Lane. Lance Hofer . . .
the dominator of the Late Model class; UNBEATEN since the later portion of the 2017 season! Until, that is, week number two of 2019.
Shaun Mann - "The Man" who finally dominated the dominator!
FIRST 'MANN' NOT NAMED HOFER IN LATE MODEL VICTORY LANE
"Last week," Shaun Mann explained, "we knew we had a fast car. We just couldn't quite get it to turn. In this division, any time you loose, any speed you scrub,
you're loosing track of the leaders and the win."
For week number two of the 2019 season, Shaun Mann's #01 was definately fast, and definately turning as needed. Running at the very bottom of the high-banked oval,
Mann's ride looked like a rocket ship coming off the turns - rotating perfectly mid-turn, and almost jumping forward onto the straights! When Mann worked to the
front of the field, he was away like a flash!
While Hofer looked ready to challenge for the lead, Friday was the night for something new - someone different. Mann collected the feature win, followed by Hofer
and Troy Langowski.
FORMER TRACK CHAMPION SCHOTT RETURNS TO MTS VICTORY LANE
Since winning his second MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY Track Championship in 2014, Lucas Schott has returned to the speedway for limited engagements and
special events. For 2019, Schott appears ready to hit MTS as, perhaps, more of a regular; and just like the days gone by, Schott eased into Victory Lane
like it was his personal parking spot.
Well, 'eased' might not be the correct word. "Yeah, turn three rattled my teeth," Schott joked, after climbing from behind the wheel of his #69 USRA Modified, "Ah,
the ruts were pretty wild, you had to hit 'em just right."
Schott did, indeed, hit them just right, running to the front of the field and leading all the way to the finish. Troy Hovey did his best to throw a late race
challenge at Schott, coming up along side of Schott coming out of turn four the checkered flag - just shy of stealing the win. Opening night feature winner Adam
Hensel raced to a third place finish just behind Hovey.
First heat-race winner Brandon Davis, and third heat-race winner Matt Leer crossed the line fourth and fifth respectively.
SCHWEBACH ENJOYS HOBBY STOCK FEATURE WIN
Nich Schwebach beat Opening Night feature winner Triton Krause to the checkered flag to win the Jailhouse Saloon USRA Hobby Stock feature.
Krause finished second, ahead of Steve Dwyer and Kevin Hager, while third heat race winner Levi Sand completed the top-5.
NISSALKE BECOMES SECOND 600 MOD FEATURE WINNER ON LIGHTNING SPEEDWAY
After many years piloting his Super Stock, Dan Nissalke jumped at the chance to strap into a redbox+ 600 Mod for the 2019 season.
After a strong run on Opening Night, a week ago, Nissalke battled up front during the 600 Mod feature and collected his first ever 600 Mod Feature win, in only
his second try.
"The opportunity to drive this came up during the off season, and I thought it would be a lot of fun," commented Nissalke, in Victory Lane, "I have to say, though,
driving this on this LIGHTNING SPEEDWAY is quite the workout!"
Brad Kramer and former 600 Mod Track Champion Bruce Schmitt finished second and third.
DEFENDING TRACK CHAMPION WALSKI WINS B-MOD FEATURE
Shaun Walski battled Ryan Olson for the right to celebrate in Victory Lane at the end of the Black Horse Bar & Grill USRA B-Mod feature. Walski nipped Olson and
took the win, with third heat-race winner, and former Track Champion, Parker Hale racing to a third place finish.
SCHOLL CONTINUES 2019 WITH A SECOND HORNET FEATURE WIN
Seth Scholl grabbed his second straight feature of 2019 in the newly branded Seth's Auto Repair MTS Hornet division.
STOCKHAUSEN NABS SLINGSHOT WIN ON THE LIGHTNING SPEEDWAY
Mason Stockhausen won the Sunshine Refuse Slingshot division feature on The LIGHTNING SPEEDWAY!
