FOUNTAIN CITY, WI (Friday June 19, 2020) –
On a night when some thought there'd be no racing (because of spinkles earlier in the day in the area) race fans who visited MISSISSIPPI THUNDER
SPEEDWAY were treated to an enjoyable evening of green-flag action right down to the final checkered flag of the night! Armond Love celebrated the arrival of
his new baby boy Tuesday evening, with a Sunshine Refuse MTS Hornet Feature win - while Tyler Werner fended off ferousious challenges to win his first ever Black
Horse Bar & Grill USRA B-Mod feature!
Josh Angst, Lance Hofer & Steve Dwyer also tasted victory as feature winners as the Rivercity Manufacturing USRA Modified, Centerville Welding & Repair USRA Late
Model and Jailhouse Saloon USRA Hobby Stock feature winners, respectively.
WERNER WINS VERY FIRST USRA B-MOD FEATURE
Ask any of his competitors, they'll tell you that they could see the improvement, they could see the speed and they could see the effort. Many offered, in confidence,
that they didn't think it would take too long for Tyler Werner to end up in Victory Lane.
That's exactly what happened Friday night as the Menomonie, WI racer fended off challenge for the lead by no less than two former MTS Track Champions, a former
National Champion, and the prior week's B-Mod feature winner; the speed was there, the improvement was put to use, and the effort allowed him to hold the lead
and eventually turn his #18 Tractor Central B-Mod into Victory Lane for the very first time!
"I guess I can't believe that I'm standing here right now," said Werner in Victory Lane, "This class is SO competetive, I knew this car was fast, but to be actuall
standing here is amazing!"
After winning the evening's third Black Horse Bar & Grill USRA B-Mod heat race, last week's first time MTS Feature winner, Kadden Kath, looked ready for a repeat,
but just couldn't quite complete a pass on Werner for the lead, and had to settle for second.
Former Track Champions Shaun Walski and Ryan Olson followed in third and fourth, respectively, with second heat race winner Troy Hovey completing the top-5.
LOVE LOVED HIS WEEK - NEW BABY TUESDAY, FEATURE WINNER FRIDAY
Armond climbed from the interior of his #29 MTS Hornet with a HUGE smile on his face and had just one thing to shout to the cheering fans in the grandstands, "I
just had a BABY Tuesday!" The crowd roared even louder with cheers!
"What a week," Love said, after the win, "A brand new baby is, of course, the biggest moment; but this is just like the icing on top of the cake!"
Last Friday's $1,000 Challenge winner, Jeremy Johnson crossed the like second.
DWYER INTERUPTS HOVDEN'S DOMINANCE WITH JAILHOUSE SALOON USRA HOBBY STOCK FEATURE WIN
As mentioned last week, Chris Hovden is making a bit of a habit out of winning Jailhouse Saloon USRA Hobby Stock Features; but this Friday belonged to La Crosse,
WI's Steve Dwyer, who turned in a dominant run hold off 2017 Track Champion Steven Holthaus and third heat-race winner Scott Spilde to grab the evening's feature
win!
ANGST AND HOFER RETURN TO VICTORY LANE
Josh Angst and Lance Hofer made return visits to the MTS Victory Lane - Angst in his #99 Rivercity Manufacturing USRA Modified, and Hofer in his #11 Centerville
Welding & Repair USRA Late Model.
