FOUNTAIN CITY, WI (Friday July 16, 2021) Kory Ressie was all smiles as he hugged his family and smiled in Victory Lane; and with great reason, the Alma, WI racer was celebrating his very first USRA Late Model Feature win!

While Ressie celebrated his first trip to Victory Lane, Jim Chisholm, Steve Dwyer and Brandon Gleiter were enjoying return trips after winning the USRA B-Mod, USRA Hobby Stock & MTS Hornet features, respectively.

Meanwhile, Joe Snow was showing the fans what Micro-Sprints could do on "The Big 1/3-Mile" - turning incredibly quick laps and racing to the first-ever Micro-Sprint feature win.

Kory Ressie can now call himself a USRA Late Model Feature winner! But that first win never comes easy.

Matt LaDuke jumped away from his pole position starting spot to lead the opening ciruit with his blue #17, but 5-Time Track Champion Lance Hofer was ready, and willing, to relive the youngster of the burden of leading the 17-car field; jumping to his familiar spot at the front of the field and leading the pack through next 14 laps. But lap 15 was a turning point for Hofer as his #11 slowed in turn two and coasted to a stop of the back straight.

As the field came back up to speed on the restart, 2016 Track Champion Justin Sass jumped to the front of the field to lead the next two laps before stuffing his #24 into the turn one wall - ending his evening with a crumpled car and crushed hopes for victory. It was at this point that Ressie's future title changed forever; from "Late Model racer" to "Late Model Feature Winner"! Ressie jumped to the front, leading the closing two laps and making his way to a family-filled celebration in MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY's Whitewater Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Victory Lane!

"I can't believe this," commented a visibly emotional Ressie while celebrating the win, "So much work and so many thanks just putting this effort together - let alone getting to victory lane."

LaDuke held on for a strong second place finish, while Max Nelson turned in the charge of the night, collecting the Kelly Iverson Trucking Biggest Mover honors, racing his #32 from a 13th place starting spot to a third place finish!

Osage, IA's Jim Chisholm has shown speed all season long on the high banks of MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY's "Big 1/3-Mile"; but for the last two weeks the stars have aligned and everything has gone his way. Friday Chisholm grabbed his second straight Black Horse Bar & Grill USRA B-Mod Feature win cleaning moving his way into the lead on lap 14 of the 20-lap feature, and remaining there until the checkered flags waived.

"The talent in this division is amazing," said Chisholm after the win, "and even more important than that is the trust we all have for each other. To be able to race hard and clean all night with this group makes a win like this so enjoyable."

Defending Track Champion lead several laps during the mid-portion of the race, using the high line to work around early race leader Nate Butterfield (who's #2 was out front for the opening nine laps) before relinquishing the lead to Chisholm on lap 14. Opening heat race winner Parker Hale completed the top-3 at the end of the feature.

La Crosse, WI's Steve Dwyer has been no stranger to the MISSISSIPPI THUNDER SPEEDWAY Victory Lane!

Steve returned his #7 to Victory Lane for the third time in 2021, leading every lap of the 18-lap Jailhouse Saloon USRA Hobby Stock feature.

Dwyer was followed across the line by Scott Spilde and current point leader Austin Hoeft.

Brandon Gleiter has made no secret of the fact that he's as baffled as anyone with the success he's enjoyed in 2021. His standard comment of "I've won more races this year that I have my entire career leading up to 2021" is more often than not followed with some form of comment that reflects either his enjoyment or his confusion, "I don't know why I keep winning; but I'm enjoying it while I am".

Gleiter won his SIXTH feature win with his #20, followed by early season point leader JR Tourtellott and second heat race winner Don Martens.

Joe Snow showed the race fans something different Friday night - bringing Micro-Sprint racing to the high-banks and turning in fast laps of the evening with his winged war-wagon.

Snow finished ahead of Noah Berglund and Mason Suebert in the evening's 14-car feature.
